Minnesota Home

Kris and I are excited that this will be our new home in MN by tomorrow. Excellent example of something that can be restored to its original beauty over time and with a lot of work. We are looking forward to it and most importantly we are excited to be living in the same house again!

Get Off Your .....

I heard a great video thought from Erwin McManus this past week. He said that most Christians are hperventilating on Jesus. Most of our spiritual life involves breathing in spiritual stuff, like reading the Bible, praying, worship, meditation, etc... and very little of our normal spiritual life involves breathing Jesus out. This whole idea has stirred something inside me. Have we as a church been prioritizing the wrong thing? Have we forgotten to teach, to show serving, breathing Jesus out into the world or have we become hyperventilated Christians who are unable to effectively do anything because we are "high" on Jesus. I believe our impact in this world is dependent on our willingness to breathe Jesus into the world. As a church is it time to breathe out a little more? What does that look like for you persaonally, -- got your excuses all set up so that you don't have to deal with it -- I am too busy, not good enough, someone else is better, not the right time in life for me -- don't overcomplicate the issue -- breathing is relatively easy -- you just exhale -- for me that means right now I just purposely exhale Jesus in my daily life -- talking to the people behind the counter at Chipotle, picking up garbage in the parking lot, grabbing a grocery cart sitting in the middle of the parking lot, making the extra effort to encourage and support the people around me.

Are you ready to exhale?

Steak!

My two roommates are awesome. Last night at 11:00 they come home with steak and Craig knows how to grill an amazing steak. Good stuff. Nothing like a good steak at 11:00!

Wind Chill
Wow, woke up this morning and we actually have a wind chill -- grrr, even though it is November still not ready for the cold. But the good news is that I still haven't see snow yet! Hopefully snow can hold off for a month or so.
