Goose Poo and Other Messy Things
If you have been around our parking lot recently you may have realized that our geese friends are back and that they have left MANY reminders all over the parking lot that they were here. The end of the parking lot toward the Oasis side of the building has been especially "gifted". Someone took it on themselves to find a power washer and clean up the parking lot before Sunday. I was around when a person asked the person power washing Goose poo why they were doing it, it wasn't there job to do that? The answer was -- "I care too much about the first impression people have when they come into the parking lot to not clean it up. If I don't do it then I don't think anyone else will."
What things are you willing to do that isn't your job that is messy, that is gross, that might even be a little undesirable. I think many people fall into a trap of forgetting that first impressions do matter, that showing people God's love through doing the messy does have an impact, that each of us can change the world if we CARE. Do you care enough about a homeless person to volunteer in a soup kitchen? Do you care enough about the spiritual well being of your family to spend time spiritually growing them? Do you care enough to clean the poo off of a sidewalk if it means someone else might not have to step in it?
