More Than A Dash

2058 Miles, 90 gallons of gas, 33 hours in a car, 3 quarts of oil, 1 gallon of antifreeze, and 1 bottle of ibuprofen. That describes the highlights of my last 8 days. We took a road trip to the middle of South Dakota to visit my wife’s family and then on the way home we drove through a major winter storm – I mean serious storm – it was snowing so stinking hard that we couldn’t see the road, at one point I hit a 2 foot snow drift in the middle of Interstate 90. It was crazy J Meanwhile during the trip we noticed that our van was falling apart – we kept losing oil and water/antifreeze, which is a bad thing if you want your car to keep running.

Wow, was it a crazy, busy, family filled week. Part of the experience for us was going back home where we grew up to see our family, friends, and to see their perspective on life. A couple of things we learned from this trip. People are hurting everywhere, people are afraid to live life to the fullest, people are REALLY afraid to live for Jesus, they would rather live by tradition. We met many people who are just coasting by in life, taking what they can get for themselves from the people around them. Unfortunately most of these people never understand what they are missing in life. Kris and I have recommitted our lives to help people live their lives with purpose and meaning through a living relationship with Jesus Christ. I am looking for a great 2007 – lets change the world.
